Doubling energy production, reducing our footprint

Indelague has taken another significant step in its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency by doubling the installed capacity of its photovoltaic plant. This investment, fully funded with the company’s own capital, represents an important milestone in Indelague’s decarbonisation strategy and demonstrates its continued commitment to the energy transition, while further strengthening its energy independence and contributing to an increasingly sustainable production model.

The expansion of the solar panel installation will significantly increase the production of renewable energy for self-consumption, reducing dependence on the electricity grid and increasing the use of clean energy sources. This initiative will help reduce the environmental footprint of Indelague’s industrial operations, in line with European carbon neutrality targets and the sector’s best environmental practices.

The second phase of the photovoltaic project represents a significant boost to the facility’s energy independence, adding 120 kW of nominal power and 154.94 kWp of peak power to the installed capacity. This additional capacity is expected to prevent around 104 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, equivalent to more than 2.5 million kilograms of avoided emissions over 25 years, further strengthening the company’s contribution to climate change mitigation.

The project also includes an energy storage system with a capacity of 400 kWh, allowing part of the solar energy generated to be stored for later use. This solution contributes to making better use of the renewable energy produced by the installation and to more efficient energy management. The installation is expected to generate around 220 MWh of solar energy per year, with a self-consumption rate of 51.3% and an energy self-sufficiency rate of 69.9%.
