9th Campaign Reinforces the Spirit of Solidarity

On 14 July, the organization hosted another blood donation campaign, bringing employees together in a gesture of solidarity with a direct impact on the community.

Indelague organized the event and welcomed external donors, allowing people outside the organization to take part in this solidarity initiative.

This was the 9th edition of the campaign, held as part of the company's corporate social responsibility policy, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to public health and active citizenship.

The initiative registered 39 potential donors, of whom 33 successfully donated blood. The campaign took place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., allowing for an organized participation throughout the morning and early afternoon.

The initiative was carried out in partnership with a specialized blood collection and healthcare organization (Centro de Sangue e da Transplantação de Coimbra), ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality throughout the donation process.

Throughout the campaign, participants shared meaningful moments of support and engagement, creating an atmosphere defined by solidarity, cooperation, and a shared sense of purpose.

Lasting impact and ongoing commitment

Blood donation is an essential contribution to the healthcare system, supporting medical treatments, surgeries, and emergency care.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), blood cannot be produced artificially and relies entirely on voluntary donations to ensure safe and sufficient blood supplies. Each donation can be separated into different blood components, benefiting several patients.

Testimonials were also collected from participants, who highlighted the simplicity of the donation process and the importance of helping save lives. These accounts reinforce the human impact of the initiative and encourage participation in future campaigns.

The organization intends to continue promoting these initiatives, strengthening its culture of corporate social responsibility and encouraging new donors to join this solidarity movement.

According to the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation (IPST), regular blood donation campaigns are essential to maintaining adequate blood supplies in hospitals and ensuring an effective response to clinical needs.
